The Arts
Calling Fredericton a “Cultural Capital” barely scratches the surface of what this city has created. With all we have to offer and the people that make it work, the City of Fredericton is an example of what a proud integration of the arts can do for the quality of life of the city.

The best part about all of this is that it is by and large, community driven. Stakeholders in the community have banded together to bring this city what we have come to know as fixtures in the landscape.
While it is important for the city to be supportive of the arts, it is equally important that the relationship is such that there is no worry about government crowding out the role that citizens play in shaping and preserving the arts community. After all, when have we ever seen art that was not made by the artists?
With that in mind, policies that make it possible for artists to perfect their talents, a market place for artists to sustain themselves and collaborations to let the value of art permeate every corner of the city is my priority.
